SPRING NATURAL DYES COURSE

SPRING NATURAL DYES COURSE

Spring brings forth a vibrant palette of colours, from the delicate pastels of blossoming flowers to the lush greens of newly sprouted foliage. Harnessing these hues, artisans and craftsmen have long used natural dyes to infuse textiles, eggs, and other materials with the spirit of the season.

The journey with natural dyes can be such an exciting adventure. Childlike wonder on an exploration to see what happens after the 24 hour soak of the fabric.

There are many surprises that nature hides and then revals when we are patient. I cannot be but grateful for these discoveries.

Seeing the new colours “show up “for me is a small miracle I appreciate each season.

Will you come on your adventure with natural dyes this spring?

you will learn:

  • what dye tools you can use at home

  • what spring material you can get out of your garden or kitchen pantry

  • how to pre-treat and mordant cotton, silk and linen

  • shades from the same dry material you can achieve on various fabrics

  • bright, clear and more saturated shades and how to get them

  • how to make sure your shades are colour fast

  • tannins and more

  • how to care for your freshly dyed garments

Dyeing with herbs, folliage and material from the garden is a wonderful way to bring the beauty of nature into your crafting projects. With a bit of experimentation and creativity, you can create a stunning array of colors using plants and dye stuff that you may already have growing in your backyard.

Once the payment is made, I will send you a confirmation and some set up instructions to your email. The course runs for 2 weeks through the lessons and videos being shared on Rusuku platform. There will also be an opportunity to have Q and A after you have experimented with extracting your natural colours.

You will have access to the course on Rusuku for 2 months.

**All bookings are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. Please keep this in mind when booking your place.
